Bills vs. Chiefs in the un-popular game of the week

December 9th, 2009 by Paul McGrady No comments

There aren’t a lot of people that will go out of their way to see or bet on this pro football odds match up but it just might be the most interesting game of the week. Both teams are mired in mediocrity and this game, believe it or not, is deadlocked in the pro football odds. The 3-9 Chiefs host the 4-8 Bills in what should be a very close game.

KC obviously has the home field advantage which is huge, especially in the frigid month of December, but the Bills has the despicable distinction of playing in one of the few places on the continent that are colder than KC in winter.

Steelers look to avoid fifth straight loss vs. Browns

December 7th, 2009 by Danny Firth No comments

Who would have ever thought they would see that headline in the 2009 NFL season? After a winning the Super Bowl less than 12 months ago and jumping out to a lead in the AFC North, Pittsburgh has dropped four straight games (two against tomato cans) and now finds its playoff hopes all but dashed in what has been a disastrous November and early December for the defending champs.

Fortunately the Browns are the epitome of a terrible NFL football odds team. Still this is little consolation to a Steelers team that dropped two of its last three to a terrible Chiefs team and rotten Raiders squad. The game is in Cleveland and so offers some pro football odds advantage to the Browns. Read more…

Rams at Bears in NFC Central backyard brawl

December 4th, 2009 by Paul McGrady No comments

In a game that may not interest anyone outside of the Chicago-St Louis Corridor, the lowly Rams will travel to Soldier Field and attempt to hand the disappointing Bears yet another loss. But fear not Chicago faithful, ‘da Bears aren’t about to drop this football odds matchup against the 1-10 Rams.

Granted the 2009 pro football odds season hasn’t exactly gone the way this team had hoped but things haven’t gotten so bad that that it’s going to drop a game at home to a lousy team like the Rams. Looking back on the NFL football odds schedule, it’s almost impossible to believe the Rams even won one game this year, but it did happen, you’re not hallucinating. The heady win over the even lousier Detroit Lions put the Rams in the win column. Read more…

AFC East pretenders battle: Jets at Bills

December 2nd, 2009 by Mark Smith No comments

With the Pats and Dolphins both losing last week it gave the cellar dwellers in the AFC East a chance to catch up and perhaps even make the division interesting again. But that’s a bit of a long shot considering the Pats are still two games up on both the Jets and Dolphins. Even in Canada this game isn’t all that interesting.

The Jets (5-6) have dropped six of their last eight games and rookie QB Mark Sanchez has thrown two TDs and seven INTs in the past three games. And the first time these two teams met in the football odds most pro football odds fans likely remember as the game that Sanchez through six INTs and matched the all-time NFL record for awfulness. Pats to get a weekend at south beach and win against the Dolphins

November 30th, 2009 by Danny Firth No comments

This matchup could have been a real beauty. These two AFC East teams, no matter what the respective records might be always seem to be competitive. And with a week 12 win for Miami and a loss for New England this game would have even had major divisional and playoff implications.

But the Dolphins lost to the Bills and no matter what happens to the Pats on Monday night they’ll still control the AFC East. And after the wounded Dolphins were exposed in an awful way lowly Buffalo it’s clear that the Fins are nowhere near the Pats in terms of competition. Miami has a few things in their favor. The game is at home, the Pats will have a short week after the Monday Night football odds competition against the Saints. But after that the list of positives is a short one for the Fins. Read more…
