With the Pats and Dolphins both losing last week it gave the cellar dwellers in the AFC East a chance to catch up and perhaps even make the division interesting again. But that’s a bit of a long shot considering the Pats are still two games up on both the Jets and Dolphins. Even in Canada this game isn’t all that interesting.
The Jets (5-6) have dropped six of their last eight games and rookie QB Mark Sanchez has thrown two TDs and seven INTs in the past three games. And the first time these two teams met in the football odds most pro football odds fans likely remember as the game that Sanchez through six INTs and matched the all-time NFL record for awfulness. Even though the football odds list the Cincinnati Bengals as 14 points favorites at home versus the Browns in the week 12 action do not assume that this result is a foregone conclusion. Throw out the records in this one and focus on one simple factor: division rivalry. The AFC North games can be brutal and when division rivals get together it doesn’t seem to matter what the respective win loss records are these games are almost always close.
Add to that the fact that even the Bengals are leading the division the Browns are coming off their best game of the entire pro football odds season –a loss to be sure, but one that should have won. But even more important than the final NFL football odds score was the fact that QB Brady Quinn played not only the best game of his young career but he put together one of the best games played by any QB in the NFL this season with 304 yds, 4 TDs, 0 INTs and a passer rating of 133. In the animal kingdom it would be a strange battle indeed, and perhaps difficult to pick a winner between a ram and a cardinal (the ram would obviously have the size and strength advantage, but the cardinal can fly; a tough choice). Still, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a potential for an upset in this week 11 football odds matchups. All things being equal the Cards should dominate this pro football odds matchup. Arizona’s defense is one of the top units in the NFC and combination of Warner, Fitzgerald and Boldin on offense is one of the best in the league. Read more…
Some football odds situations just don’t sound right coming off the tongue and the following phrase: “the Jets are a good team” is one of them. But believe it. Through two games the Jets have looked like one of the best football odds teams in the league.
And all this with a rookie QB and a rookie coach. Who would have thought that Mark Sanchez would have been an upgrade from Brett Favre? But Sanchez has been outstanding not only avoiding errors and turnovers, but making big plays to keep his team in the games –a rare trait for football odds rookies. Read more…
Fewer teams in the AFC were hyped up more than the Cincinnati Bengals during the football odds offseason. And fewer teams failed to live up to said hype more spectacularly than the Bengals. The supposedly transformed scored one measly TD and lost the home opener to a Broncos team that most top ten college teams should beat in football odds.
The road doesn’t get any easier this week in the pro football odds as they travel to a very inhospitable Lambeau Field to take on the Packers. The Packers have a chance to be one of the best in the NFC this year and the results won’t be much different in week two for Cincy than they were in week one. Read more…
