Falcons Look to Whip Up on Panthers

November 13th, 2009 Paul McGrady No comments

The Atlanta Falcons are arguably the best 5-3 team in the pro football odds. This is a team that when it’s firing on all cylinders is likely one of the best in football and it’s got a very good shot at going deep in the pro football odds post season. Its three losses have come at the hands of the Saints, Cowboys and Pats respectively, and all on the road –hardly embarrassing losses.

The Panthers, on the other hand, don’t have a lot of reasons to smile this football odds season. This has been one of the worst teams in the leagues at one point or another but it’s also the same team that marched into the Super Dome and by all accounts should have knocked off the mighty Saints.

November 11th, 2009 Paul McGrady No comments

The battle for the NFL’s MVP is often a tight a contentious pro football odds race that goes down to the wire. That is not the case this season. One player has jumped out to such a tremendous start that he’s got a virtual stranglehold on the trophy.

This pro football odds season the MVP award is Peyton Manning’s to lose.

Entering the season just about everyone who anything about the NFL had predicted that the Colts were in demise and that with a new and very receiving corps Manning’s numbers would also slip. And everyone who knows anything about the NFL could not have been more wrong. Unless the team loses 6 straight NFL football odds match ups and misses the playoffs, Manning will likely win his record setting fourth MVP award.

The answer is no.

The difference between the perfect Pats squad and this Colts team is that the Pats team had a lot more talent. They blew teams away in the pro football odds and were the highest scoring team in history. That team also had one of the best defenses in the NFL football odds that season as well.

November 6th, 2009 Paul McGrady No comments

The mid-point of the football odds season is here. Most teams have now completed eight of the sixteen games on the schedule and those that haven’t will do so this weekend. And just a like in school this is the perfect point to issue a mid-term exam.

A one question test that asks: Which is the best team in the football odds? It’s a good question that deserves a good answer (which it may not receive here). Base purely on the records of the teams in the pro football odds, it’s a two-horse race with only Indy and New Orleans perfect through the first half of the NFL football odds season.

Giants Have Major Issues

November 4th, 2009 Paul McGrady No comments

There was a time not so long ago when much of the public and football odds media had crowned the New York Giants the best team in the NFL. That was actually only about a month ago and with a perfect 5-0 record it seemed quite possible. But a closer examination of the teams they beat and the subsequent three-game slide in the pro football odds has caused many a fan and pundit to change their tune.

The truth is the Giants are in trouble. It’s hard to find a spot to point the finger first but one position is the QB. Eli Manning started the season so well that people started confusing him with Peyton. That is until the last three games when he’s completed less than 50% of this throws and racked up 6 INTs. With those stats he’s not even the best QB in New York let alone the division.
