$10,000 fine to Favre
Pro football odds fans around the US, watched on national television how Brett Favre performed a very dangerous and illegal block against the Houston Texans player Eugene Wilson, during the week 3 of the preseason. Because of this fault, the NFL punished Favre with a $10,000 fine.
Favre didn’t play in the final exhibition game against the Dallas Cowboys last Friday, and he was playing his second game since he signed with the Vikings on August, 18th.
The action took place during the evening of Monday, Aug. 31, when 39 years old veteran positioned as wide receiver, was placed in a variant of the “Wildcat” formation.
Percy Harvin, rookie receiver was placed behind the center, received the ball and started running.
In that moment, Favre bent over to get in the way of Wilson and blocked him at the height of the legs, this is known as a “crack-back-block”, considered as a personal foul and 15 yards, considered also as a very dangerous threat for the physical integrity of the players.
Wilson injured his left knee and after the game his agent said they were awaiting an apology from Favre… which never came.
Favre declared that he had no intention of causing any injury making that block.
