AFC East pretenders battle: Jets at Bills
With the Pats and Dolphins both losing last week it gave the cellar dwellers in the AFC East a chance to catch up and perhaps even make the division interesting again. But that’s a bit of a long shot considering the Pats are still two games up on both the Jets and Dolphins. Even in Canada this game isn’t all that interesting.
The Jets (5-6) have dropped six of their last eight games and rookie QB Mark Sanchez has thrown two TDs and seven INTs in the past three games. And the first time these two teams met in the football odds most pro football odds fans likely remember as the game that Sanchez through six INTs and matched the all-time NFL record for awfulness.
Still, the game was a barn burner with the Bills only prevailing by a field goal (16-13). Neither of these teams will be in the playoffs and but they’ll still be playing for pride. Unfortunately pride is hard factor to handicap. Both have major weaknesses on both sides of the ball. The Bills are coming off a massive division win over Miami and probably have a bit more momentum, especially considering they’ll be playing in Toronto, the team’s ‘home away from home’. This club has also looked invigorated with Perry Fewell and Ryan Fitzpatrick installed in their new positions.
Buffalo’s offense is looking as good as it’s looked in awhile but the Jets defense should still win this matchup. New York is a three point favorite and should win this game on neutral Canadian soil.
