Pats vs. Jets: Second Best Game of the Week

September 18th, 2009 by Danny Firth Leave a comment Go to comments

jetsThe pro football odds favor the Pats on the road (+5 ½) in this key AFC East showdown.  That seems to be a bit soft considering that the Pats barely escaped a loss at home to the mediocre Bills in week one of the NFL pro football odds.  New York is not a nice for visitors to play and with Ryan’s clever blitzes coming at Brady all day this football odds game will severely tax the Pats. Look for the Jets to at least cover the spread.

If Rex Ryan is cold calling ticket holders than you know this is a big game.  Any time the Pats come to New York (even without the Mangini element) it’s a big game and the week two matchup between these AFC East rivals should be a good one.

The Jets are a revitalized organization with a brash new coach and a terrific looking rookie QB –at least in week one.  The defense blitzes the passer like their life depends on it and a solid running game takes pressure off of Mark Sanchez and allows the team to play ball control offense.  At least that’s how everything panned out in the only game of the pro football odds so far.

The Patriots will provide quite a different challenge in the football odds than the Texans.  So long as the Tom Brady suits up for the Pats they’ve got a chance against anyone.  But the Pats have plenty of things to improve on both sides of the ball to be sure.  The offense looked rusty and the defense might be the worst ever under Bill Belichick in NE.
