Rams at Bears in NFC Central backyard brawl

In a game that may not interest anyone outside of the Chicago-St Louis Corridor, the lowly Rams will travel to Soldier Field and attempt to hand the disappointing Bears yet another loss. But fear not Chicago faithful, ‘da Bears aren’t about to drop this football odds matchup against the 1-10 Rams.

Granted the 2009 pro football odds season hasn’t exactly gone the way this team had hoped but things haven’t gotten so bad that that it’s going to drop a game at home to a lousy team like the Rams. Looking back on the NFL football odds schedule, it’s almost impossible to believe the Rams even won one game this year, but it did happen, you’re not hallucinating. The heady win over the even lousier Detroit Lions put the Rams in the win column.

But with QB Mark Bulger out, RB Steven Jackson beat up and Kyle Boller their most dangerous weapon on offense, it’s obvious this team has some real problems. In fact this is one of the few times that you’ll see the Bears favored by nine points in any NFL football odds betting line. This should be an opportunity for struggling QB Jay Cutler to have one his few –far between- stat inflating passing days …if his receivers can get open. And they should.

Pass coverage is not one of the things that the Rams do well. Neither is pass defense, or rushing the passer. Or passing the ball for that matter. The one thing that this team does well is run the ball but by itself this will not beat anyone (except for maybe the Lions again) and with Jackson questionable it’s an even more dubious cause. Bears will pummel the Rams.
