The battle for Ohio: Browns at Bengals
Even though the football odds list the Cincinnati Bengals as 14 points favorites at home versus the Browns in the week 12 action do not assume that this result is a foregone conclusion. Throw out the records in this one and focus on one simple factor: division rivalry. The AFC North games can be brutal and when division rivals get together it doesn’t seem to matter what the respective win loss records are these games are almost always close.
Add to that the fact that even the Bengals are leading the division the Browns are coming off their best game of the entire pro football odds season –a loss to be sure, but one that should have won. But even more important than the final NFL football odds score was the fact that QB Brady Quinn played not only the best game of his young career but he put together one of the best games played by any QB in the NFL this season with 304 yds, 4 TDs, 0 INTs and a passer rating of 133.
That game could and should do wonders for the struggling offense. Granted just about every team has hung up such number against the sagging Lions but the Browns need inspiration wherever they can get it and they can certainly get some here. The worrisome thing for Cleveland is the fact that the Bengals are coming off a very frustrating loss to the Raiders (not a typo!) and will be hungry for blood in front of the home crowd. The Browns defense also just gave up 422 passing yards to a rookie QB. Browns should come out inspired and make a game of it, at least tighter than two TDs.
