Who’s The Boss in the NFC?
With three weeks of football odds action down the hatch there has been some very impressive teams in the NFC thus far. In the East the Giants have looked very sharp. In the North the Vikings are clear Super Bowl contenders. And in the South the Saints have been terrorizing opponents in both conferences. But the real question is: who’s the best?
All three teams are undefeated and except for the Vikings win last week and the Giants win in Dallas, haven’t really even be challenged by a pro football odds opponent this season. And all three lead their divisions.
One common thread among this group is the fact that they have well-balanced offenses in the sense that they can both run and throw the ball. New Orleans has been missing the run element from its game and Minnesota has been missing the passing element but both have seemed to remedied those problems this season. And even with the departure of Plaxico Burress the Giants pass attack is still on target.
Both New York and Minnesota has strong defenses as well. The jury is still out on the Saints, but its body of work so far in the ’09 NFL football odds suggests that this facet of its game is much improved.
St. Louis has the best offense of the group and Vikings have the best defense, but New York may have the best total package. It’s almost impossible to say which team is the best at this juncture, but if forced to choose, it would seem that the Giants have a leg up simply based on the quality of the teams they’ve played.
But make no mistake, these teams are the cream of the NFC crop this year.
