Straight Wagers
Straight wagers are the most common type of bets that sportsbooks receive. They are wagers made using a point spread also called side. Usually the line is (-110), in this case, you risk $110 to win $100. To win a straight wager, you just need to work with the point spread. It’s really simple, just add your line to the final score of the game. After you subtract or add the line to the final score and your team’s score is still bigger than their opponent, you win your straight wager.
When you win against the spread is also called covering the wager. Always remember that if you are wagering on the favorite, the point spread will be negative. So you need to subtract the number of the line!
